I just don't see how a user could cause a syntax error, assuming you are simply using Windows Live Mail, and are not updating its program code yourself (Microsoft ceased to do so years ago). Nevertheless, the error you are seeing is a very specific one, namely an IMAP syntax error. Note that if you have elected to Save a copy of sent messages in the 'Sent Items' folder on the Send tab of the program properties dialogue, you will see two copies of sentĪh well, I don't use iCloud e-mail, and was unaware that it can't support POP3. Now test the new folders by creating test messages to see whether they're working properly. This will prompt you to refresh the folder list do so. Enter the special folder names that you noted earlier.ĭeleted Items path (probably Deleted Messages).Select Check for new messages in all folders if that's what you want, and Store special folders on IMAP server.Note that these folder names are case-sensitive.Ĭlose the dialogue, then right-click on the new account name in the folder pane and select Properties. Make a note of the exact names for the 'special' folders. Right-click on the account name in the folder pane and select Show or hide folders. It sounds as if there's a problem with mapping the IMAP folders to the Windows Live Mail ones.
I am very much aware that WLM is no longer being maintained by Microsoft.
I have deleted and added my iCloud account on WLM and also reinstalled WLM but the problem remains. So far both programs can access my iCLoud account without any problems. I have also started to look at other email programs such as eM ClientĪnd Thunderbird. Its just recently that I have noticed that nothing is showing up in my WLM iCLoud account. I have been using WLM with iCloud for years without issues.
I can verify that the message does show up on the iCloud inbox on my iPhone and also on via a web browser. The only reference to the message that I canįind on WLM is in the Sent items folder of the Storage Folders area. Very strange as this behavior does not occur on any of my other POP or IMAP accounts. I can send a message to and from my iCloud email account using WLM but nothing shows up in any of the IMAP folders on WLM.
